Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy covers all apps and web services from HaruApp — including HaruNews, HaruStock, HaruHome, HaruVerse, HaruFortune, and HaruHistory. Where a particular practice applies only to a specific app, we call it out by name.

This Privacy Policy describes how HaruApp ("we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use any of our apps (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

We aim to collect the minimum information necessary to provide our Service:

Device identifiers — used solely to deliver push notifications (via Firebase Cloud Messaging).
Anonymous usage statistics — aggregate counts of content views, for improving content quality.

We do not collect personal identifiers such as names, phone numbers, or email addresses from app users.

2. How We Use Information

To deliver daily content and push notifications you requested.
To measure aggregate engagement and improve content quality.
To maintain and secure our Service.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties, except for the following service providers strictly necessary to operate the Service:

Google Firebase — push notifications, anonymous usage analytics, crash logs, and content sync. See Firebase Privacy.
Google AdMob — to display ads in apps that include advertising (currently HaruHistory). AdMob may collect the device's advertising identifier and share it with ad partners as part of ad delivery. See Google Privacy Policy.
Google YouTube — for content publishing as described in section 5. See Google Privacy Policy.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) — for backup storage of non-personal operational data.

4. Data Retention

Aggregate usage data is retained for up to 12 months. Operational backups are retained for 30 days and then automatically deleted.

5. App-Specific Notices

HaruHistory — Advertising

HaruHistory is a free app supported by advertising. Ads are served through Google AdMob. To deliver ads, AdMob may automatically collect:

Your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID)
Device information such as model, operating system version, and language
IP address (used transiently for ad delivery)
Ad interaction events (impressions, clicks)

AdMob may share the above data with ad partners as part of ad delivery and measurement. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time via Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

HaruVerse (upcoming) — YouTube API Services

HaruVerse uses YouTube API Services to upload daily Bible-verse short videos to our official YouTube channels. Specifically, we use the following scopes:

youtube.upload — to upload video files to our channels.
youtube.force-ssl — to manage uploaded video metadata (title, description, tags) over HTTPS.

These scopes are used only by our internal operator account to publish content we create. End users of the HaruVerse app do not authenticate with YouTube. The operator's Google account data is not shared with app users or any third party.

By using the HaruVerse Service, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Our handling of information obtained from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

The operator can revoke HaruVerse's access to Google account data at any time via the Google security settings page.

6. Children's Privacy

HaruApp's apps are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
